How HyreRoof works
Six steps, and an honest account of what happens to your information at each one.

HyreRoof is an independent roofing resource for homeowners, not a roofing contractor. There are two ways to use it and both are legitimate. You can read the guides, run the calculators and never tell us anything, none of it is gated. Or you can tell us about a project and let us help you find a roofing professional. This page is about the second one.
01. Tell us what you need
Repair, replacement, inspection, storm damage, emergency tarping or gutters. If you are not sure which, say so, "not sure yet" is a real answer and it is on the form.
02. Give us your location
A zip code. Roofing is governed locally: design wind speed, hail exposure, snow load, ice-barrier requirements, fire classification and permit rules all change by jurisdiction, and so does which company can legally work there.
03. Tell us about the project
Property type, how urgent it is, and anything you have noticed: a stain on a ceiling, granules in the gutter, missing shingles after wind. A professional who knows this before they call has a more useful conversation with you.
04. We review what is available for your market
We look at the information we can actually verify for your area and your type of work. What is available differs by state: some states license roofing specifically, some fold it into a general contractor licence, some do not license it at all.
05. We connect you
Where we can, we introduce you to roofing professionals serving your area and project type. Nothing is passed to a company before you have agreed to it.
06. You decide what happens next
Speak to a professional, request an estimate, or keep researching. There is no obligation at any point, and using the guides and calculators never requires giving us anything.
An introduction is not a recommendation. If we introduce you to a roofing company, that is not us vouching for the outcome of your project. You should still verify current licensing where your state requires it, ask for insurance certificates from the insurer rather than the contractor, compare written scopes, and read the contract before you sign it. Choosing a roofer is the checklist for that.
What HyreRoof does
- Publishes roofing guides, calculators and original research, free and ungated.
- Collects project information from homeowners who want to be connected.
- Checks what can be verified about roofing professionals in a given market.
- Introduces homeowners to roofing professionals serving that area and service.
- States plainly where our information is incomplete.
What HyreRoof does not do
- We do not inspect, repair, replace or tarp roofs. We are not a roofing contractor.
- We do not supervise, warrant, guarantee or finance roofing work.
- We cannot assess a roof remotely. An active leak belongs with a local roofer today, not with us.
- We do not rank roofers or publish reviews.
- We do not sell your details.
How we may be compensated
We expect to be paid by roofing professionals for introducing homeowners to them. You are not charged anything, at any stage.
The obvious risk in that model is that the money starts deciding the advice. Our editorial policy separates the two explicitly: a commercial relationship does not influence what this site says about a material, a warranty, an insurance claim or how to evaluate a contractor. If that ever stops being true, the policy is what you should hold us to.
What happens to your information
- We use it to answer you and to find relevant professionals. That is the whole purpose we collect it for.
- No roofing company receives your details until you have agreed.
- We do not sell your data. Introducing you to a professional you asked to be introduced to is not the same as selling a list, and we do not do the second thing.
- You can ask us to delete it. The privacy policy sets out how, along with what we store and for how long.
Where we actually are today. Roofer matching is still being built. This is not yet an instant-quote marketplace, and we would rather say that than imply a network we do not have. Tell us the project and the zip code: we will answer your question and let you know when we can introduce roofing companies in your area.
